The night is so much darker now,
That the burning ships have sailed.

Good soldier I’ll lay down my arms,
And concede we lost the war.

So the songs I write just turn out sad,
Since the reaper took the reins.
The friends I once made music with,
Are now ghosts clanging their chains,
They clang their chains.

Dragging through my past,
The chains that keep them bound,
And locked inside my memory,
Where they never really died.
These spirits keep me company, at large,
They’re by my side.

With this impossibility,
That we could all be here.
The good times haven’t ended yet,
I swear I’ll keep you here.
So I’ll wrap my arms around my friends,
Because I love you all.
